Honduras Marcala Community Organic

Honduras Marcala Community is a coffee shaped by cooperation and a dedication to organic farming. It comes from COMSA (Café Orgánico Marcala Sociedad Anónima), a cooperative founded in 2001 by 69 farmers determined to produce coffee in harmony with the land. Today, with more than 1,200 members, COMSA is recognised as a leader in sustainable agriculture, known as much for its community initiatives as for the quality of its coffee.

Grown in the Montecillos mountain range at altitudes of 1,200 to 1,600 metres, the coffee thrives in rich soils and under the shade of Inga, citrus, and banana trees. This environment encourages slower cherry ripening, protecting biodiversity while enhancing natural sweetness. After harvest, the coffee is carefully washed, a process that brings clarity and balance to the cup.

In the cup, it is smooth and layered. Notes of milk chocolate and brazil nut meet almond, raisin, and gentle stewed fruits, creating a profile that is both comforting and complex. Roasted to a medium profile, it is a versatile all-rounder — best enjoyed as espresso, but equally at home in filter or cafetière.
